The Raumerweiterungshalle collective has been evolving since 2003. Their beloved sardine tin, the Halle, as she is affectionately nicknamed, is a utopian mobile architecture from the 60s/70s GDR. Appropriate to her age, she is high maintenance and regularly about to fall apart. Through ongoing renovations and makeovers, she exists and acts in solidarity as a sustainable space that aims to facilitate approaches to cultural and political exchange outside competitive individualism, to accompany emancipatory and critical projects with an infrastructure, to allow experiments and failure, and to do all this with joy, in a supportive, loving atmosphere.
